Accommodation

There are a lot of hotels around the island but our goal is to concentrate all athletes on the East side of the island, focusing in Machico - check location here. We developed an accommodation interactive map to help you find a place to rest but at the same time stay near Machico, where the event and entire race takes place. This means you’ll save extra cash for beer or souvenirs if you don’t need to rent a car! According to the island topography, roads and access, we established three different areas: green, blue and red. Keep in mind these values and labels!

Green area
This is the area you want to be! Access to and from accommodation is between 2 to 10 minutes bike ride.
Blue area
Access from accommodation to the Bike Festival area is between 10 to 25 minutes bike ride. You don’t need to rent-a-car if you have a bit of stamina. There could be a couple uphill road sections but nothing major.
Red area
You’re too far from the Bike Festival area - that doesn’t mean you can’t stay there. You’ll need to rent-a-car or have another plan. We advise you to avoid this area if you plan to experience the EWS in Madeira.
Notes
  • This is high-season in Madeira due to Flower Festival. We recommend you to book flights and accommodation as soon as possible.
  • The interactive map is based in the addresses provided by the owners. We’re not responsible for any mistakes in terms of distances.
  • Plan your stay in advance and contact the owners if possible.
